The Day I Messed Around with Beer

When I was younger, I had these neighbors who were not LDS, and they invited my family over for a birthday dinner with their grandson and granddaughter. My sister, the grandson, the granddaughter, and me, were all around the same age. We were all sitting at the little kid's table, like so many families have, and we were all eating our appetizers like normal, and we were talking about how we were all going to hang out the next day, when their dad, Bart, came up to us to tell us what our plans would be to hang out. He brought over his cigarette and beer, and placed the beer on our mini table while he was talking to us. He soon got beckoned over to the adult table, and forgot about his beer laying on the table. What else were a bunch of four to six year olds to do?

You're probably thinking that we all tasted it. That's not too far off. Kaylee dared me to drink some of it, but I knew it was bad for me, so I didn't. They kept pressuring me into tasting it. Pretty soon I decided I had had enough peer pressure, I picked that bottle up, and.... Dumped most of it onto the grass. The other kids just stared at me in disbelief, then pretty soon, we all busted up laughing. They couldn't believe I'd dumped out about half of their dad's beer! When Bart came back around to get his beer back, he had such a look of surprise on his face when he felt how light his beer bottle was! We all kept poker faces until he left. Which was then when we almost fell out of our seats in a laughing fit. I think that now I am the only one who has this memory still, since it happened about, twelve years ago. It has faded like pencil writing over time from the others. That was a day that I'll probably never forget. The Day I Messed Around With Beer.
